Challenge E

„Medikation Management“

Proposed by DAK

For many elderly people, it is a challenge to prepare their medication themselves. There are many reasons for this, such as limited eyesight, limited dexterity or frequent changes in the medication regimen. Therefore, many people order domiciliary care services or ask their neighbors and friends for support in the preparation of the medication. But this comes with a variety of problems. The service providers don’t allow to control who enters their house and at which times, and there staff is oftentimes in a hurry. For neighbors and friends, there is a risk of being dependent on their availability and a need to find alternative solutions whenever they are not available.

Actual Challenge

Find a solution that allows people to have their medication prepared in a reliable and safe manner. Make sure your approach is more cost-efficient than the current costs for service providers for medication management.

Icebreaker questions

  1. How to elderly people succeed to have easy access to your solution?
  2. Do you manage to find a solution that offers additional features on top of the medication management, such as personal or technical social interaction?
  3. How do you make sure that your solution can be legally used today?
  4. Why is your solution adaptable for other health systems?
